Arsenal vs Newcastle Betting Tips

Arsenal managed to bounce back from their shocking performance at Southampton on Boxing Day. They lost 4-0 to the struggling Saints, but got over their disappointment quickly to comfortably dispatch of Bournemouth on Monday.

This win at Bournemouth made it five wins and one defeat in their last six outings in all competitions, a record which has seen them take the top spot in the Premier League.

They moved level on points with ex-leaders Leicester as they drew with Manchester City, and the Gunners now lead the table on goal difference.

Newcastle’s recent poor form has seen them slip back into the drop zone. They currently reside in 18^th position with two points separating them from the safe zone.

The visitors looked to be getting back on track when they picked up three wins in a five match period, but they come into this match having lost two and won none of their last three outings.

However, Newcastle do have the potential to play really well. Aleksandar Mitrovic, Ayoze Perez, and especially Georginio Wijnaldum have shown glimpses of quality throughout the season and can be very dangerous on the right day.

Saturday could well be that day, as Arsenal’s collapse against Southampton highlighted some key defensive frailties.

Both teams have major injury concerns at the moment though. Arsenal are expected to be missing Danny Welbeck, Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta, Alexis Sanchez, Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, and Francis Coquelin.

Newcastle have Tim Krul, Papiss Cisse, Mike Williamson, Massadio Haidara, Rolando Aarons, Emmanuel Riviere, and Gabriel Obertan all out injured.

I think Newcastle can grab a goal against an Arsenal defence who showed that they can be very poor on Boxing Day. But I still think the Gunners will get a win, so I’m backing Arsenal to Win and Both Teams to Score at excellent value odds of 13/8.
