Arsenal vs Wolverhampton Predictions

  • Arsenal have won their last six league meetings with Wolves
  • Wolves have failed to score in four of their last six league meetings with Arsenal
  • The Gunners conceded just 29 goals last season
  • Kai Havertz scored four goals in Arsenal’s final five league matches last season

Gunners targeting Premier League title

Arsenal have finished second to Manchester City in the past two Premier League campaigns and the Gunners will only have eyes for top spot once again.

They know every point counts if they are to usurp the Citizens and the prediction is for Arsenal to make a winning start at the Emirates on Saturday.

A visit from Wolves looks an ideal fixture for Mikel Arteta’s men who have won their last six meetings with the Molineux outfit, and who finished the previous campaign like a train.

The Gunners won 16 of their final 18 matches as they went toe-to-toe with the champions but it still wasn’t enough and they will be keen to make an impression on day one.

Arsenal won both meetings with Wolves last season and they have scored at least twice in five of the last six match-ups, and we predict a comfortable win for Arteta’s side this Saturday.

Wolves could be muzzled at the Emirates

Wolves won three of their five matches in pre-season but their last outing was a disappointing 1-0 home defeat to Rayo Vallecano, hardly ideal preparation for the new campaign.

And, having been tamed by the Spanish minnows and failing to score in four of their last six meetings with Arsenal, our prediction is for Wanderers to fire a blank at the Emirates once again.

Star forward Matheus Cunha is likely to be missing for Gary O’Neil’s side who won just one of their final 11 matches in the Premier League last season.

Their last outing was a 2-0 defeat at Liverpool and the same outcome is predicted for their opening encounter of the new season.

Kai to carry on where he left off

Kai Havertz bagged 13 goals for Arsenal last season, and having had even further time to settle into the side, we predict the German international to quickly get off the mark this season.

Havertz scored four goals in the Gunners’ final five league matches in 2023-24 but the scoring didn’t stop there as he helped himself to a couple of goals in his country’s Euro 2024 campaign this summer.

The 25-year-old became an integral part to the Arsenal side last season despite not opening his goal-scoring account until late November last season.

Things could happen much quicker for him this time around and our prediction is for Havertz to get off the mark at the Emirates this weekend.
