Atalanta vs Celtic Predictions
- Atalanta have led at half-time before going on to win in each of their last three games
- Celtic have lost their last six Champions League away matches by an aggregate score of 25-3
- Europa League champions Atalanta are unbeaten in the Champions League this term, drawing with Arsenal before beating Shakhtar 3-0
Celtic could be blown away by Atalanta
After winning the Europa League last term, Atalanta have continued to excel in Europe, drawing away at Arsenal in their Champions League opener – they had a penalty saved by David Raya that day – before routing Shakhtar 3-0 in Gelsenkirchen.
They are fast becoming one of the European elite, which will spell bad news for Celtic, who were thrashed 7-1 by another of the continent’s top sides, Borussia Dortmund, in their last Champions League outing.
The Bhoys come into this game following a frustrating 2-2 draw with Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership and may lack the motivation to even put up a fight in Bergamo.
La Dea to dominate in Bergamo
For all their dominance in Scotland, Celtic’s record on the road in this competition is pitiful to say the least, with the Bhoys losing their last six Champions League away games by an aggregate score of 25-3.
Brendan Rodgers’ side were 5-1 down at the half in Dortmund earlier this month and there may be more miserable faces in the away dressing room this week too.
Atalanta have led at half-time before going on to win each of their last three games and should continue that trend by dominating Celtic from start to finish on Wednesday.
