Atalanta vs Napoli Predictions

Napoli struggling to emulate last season

Following the euphoria that greeted their Serie A triumph last term, Napoli are finding it hard to replicate that success and are already ten points behind leaders Inter Milan after 12 games.

And things could be about to get worse as Walter Mazzarri’s team face a difficult trip to Atalanta and it is worth siding with the Bergamo side to come out on top.

Atalanta’s only league home defeat came the last time they played on their own patch and before that they had won five and drawn one of six games, keeping a clean sheet in four straight encounters before that setback.

Napoli have claimed three away games this season, but the standard of opposition has not been greet and Gian Piero Gasperini’s team are likely to come out on top of this one.

Atalanta set to edge entertaining encounter

The visitors have won at bottom two Verona and Salernitana and were 4-0 victors at Lecce at the end of September, who have yet to win since, so that form looks limited for a more difficult trip.

While Atalanta’s home defence has been strong, there is definitely a case for Napoli getting on the scoresheet as they have in all but two of their last 17 league matches on the road.

But it could be that Atalanta just hold the edge and a 2-1 home win looks a sensible correct-score option.
