Atalanta vs Sampdoria Betting Tips

      Tip Reasoning

Since an opening weekend 2-0 defeat to Inter Milan, Atalanta have hardly put a foot wrong earning tough draws against Sassuolo and Verona, while beating Frosinone and Empoli. They’re currently 11th place in Serie A with Monday’s game offering a clear chance to move back into the top half.

The foundation of this side is playing solid football on their back line and playing in a controlled style with the ball. There was always a feeling that their return to Serie A could be positive and at this stage, the team’s performance is less important than getting points on the board.

There was some, including ourselves, who feared Sampdoria might endure a difficult season after a summer of transition. However, after a very strong season in 2014-15, they look like a good side again in 2015-16. It was headlined last week when they beat Roma 2-1.

There aren’t many early negatives and Sampdoria actually look like a side with a more potent offense than the one they had last term.

      Three Reasons for Betting Tips

      1. Squad depth

We think that Sampdoria has a little more squad depth, they were expecting a deeper run in the Europa League and had built in some additional depth to deal with that. It should count for something during these periods of play.

      2. Reading Atalanta

They’ve done very well playing as the underdogs, setting themselves up as a good defensive team and digging in. We wonder if their positive start and Monday’s opponent might just disrupt that playing style a little. Sampdoria are the slight underdogs and will probably enter this game in a positive relaxed phrase of mind.

      3. Take Sampdoria as underdogs

It’s hard not to like Sampdoria at 5/6 on the Double Chance bet in this game. They’ve got the ability to score quick goals and Atalanta don’t tend to find the scoresheet too much themselves. This game is going to be close and there’s a good chance that Sampdoria do alright in that matchup.
