Atletico Madrid vs Alaves Predictions
- Atletico Madrid have won four of their last six home La Liga matches
- Alaves have lost six of their seven away league fixtures this term
- Atletico have won nine of their past 16 meetings with Alaves since 2016
Colchoneros to capture another three points
Atletico Madrid should be able to maintain their impressive home form when they host struggling Alaves at the Metropolitano Stadium on Saturday.
Diego Simeone’s side have come through a tough period of results and are now starting to think about rejoining the title race after four wins in a row in all competitions.
Alaves, who have never won at Atleti’s Metropolitano home, visit the capital in poor shape after a 3-0 loss at Villarreal condemned them to a sixth defeat in their last seven league matches.
Griezmann to lead the charge
The visitors are in a precarious position, sitting just three points above the relegation zone and while Alaves shocked Real Sociedad earlier this season, their recent form suggests they will struggle against a resurgent Atleti.
Antoine Griezmann will be key to Atletico’s hopes, having been in excellent form recently. The French forward has historically performed well against Alaves and will be looking to continue his impressive goal-scoring record.
With Atletico’s strong home record and Alaves’ defensive vulnerabilities, a comfortable home win looks likely. Expect Julian Alvarez and Griezmann to be among the goals in what could be a comfortable 3-0 victory for the hosts.
