Augsburg vs AZ Betting Tips

Augsburg had a truly disastrous start to the new season after their impressive 5^th place finish in last season’s Bundesliga table.

They lost four of their first five games and only managed one victory in their first 11 outings since the start of the Bundesliga season.

But they managed to end another five match winless streak when they visited AZ in their 3^rd Europa League group game.

This 1-0 win brought Augsburg their first points in the Europa League and took them level on points with 3^rd placed AZ. Another win over them on Thursday could potentially see them move into 2^nd position in Group L.

Their win over AZ seems to have lit a fire in their bellies as well, and they have now only lost once in their last four games, winning twice.

AZ are in a pretty poor spell of form themselves. They have lost four of their last six matches in all competitions, winning just once.

This sees both teams sitting in a poor position in their respective leagues. Augsburg are rock bottom of the Bundesliga with just six points from their opening 11 games, whilst AZ are in 11^th position in the Eredivisie.

I’m expecting AZ to struggle in Germany on Thursday. They are out of form and managed to lose the home fixture against Augsburg despite having the majority of possession and attacking play.

Augsburg’s improved form and home advantage should see them put in a better performance on Thursday, and the fact that they have scored six goals in their last two matches show that they have found their scoring form.

Odds of 3/5 for an Augsburg win look like a fair price to me, so I’m going to back that result along with a 2-0 correct score prediction at 15/2.
