Austin FC should be backed to beat New York Red Bulls at Q2 Stadium.

The visitors’ away form has let them down this season, with just one win, two draws and five defeats on the road in MLS.

New York Red Bulls have achieved 27 points from their 17 games this season. They have recorded eight wins, three draws and six losses, whilst Austin FC have 23 points from 18 games winning six times, drawing five and losing seven.

Austin FC have been impressive defensively at home this season, conceding just seven goals in nine MLS games – an average of 0.78 goals per game. They have also lost just one of their last seven home games in MLS.

The visitors need to turn things around. New York Red Bulls have lost four of their last six away games in MLS and could be heading for another defeat here.

The visitors have been disappointing in front of goal away from home this season, scoring just five goals in eight games – an average of 0.63 goals a game on the road.

A 2-0 win for Austin FC looks like a decent correct-score option. Eight of their last ten MLS games have ended with under 2.5 goals, but they were 2-0 winners against Colorado Rapids in their latest match.
