Cardiff vs Peterborough Predictions

  • Back-to-back league wins have helped Cardiff move away from the drop zone.
  • New boy Uche Ikpeazu scored on his Cardiff debut.
  • Peterborough have lost six of their last seven away games (D1).
  • No side picked up fewer away points than Peterborough’s four.

At long last, the Bluebirds are flying

While Cardiff have spent much of the season around the bottom-five places and remain there still, back-to-back league wins ahead of this clash lifted them nine points clear of 22nd-placed Peterborough ahead of the midweek round of games, albeit having played one game more.

The hosts can ill afford to let it be as there is still much work to be done, losing this game would drag them right back into the mix while victory will be huge in their fight for survival, this game simply has all of the hallmarks of a relegation ‘six-pointer’.

Unfortunately, no side picked up fewer than Cardiff’s ten home league points, though they did win their last game here and against promotion-chasing Forest no less. A clean sheet sh0uld be enough to seal victory here though, given that Peterborough are yet to keep one themselves in away league games.

Posh by name, poor by nature

Making the final 16 of the FA Cup is a welcome distraction for Peterborough, though they must now face the harsh reality of the relegation battle they face. The Posh have picked up just one point across the last five rounds.

Even though Posh boss Darren Ferguson is unbeaten in six of his last seven personal H2Hs with Cardiff (W4, D2), his Peterborough charges have been porous on the road, conceding at least twice in 12 of their 14 league trips to date!

Overall, I think the worst home side in the division should have just about enough to overcome the Championship’s worst performing away side, I predict a Cardiff win with a small stakes selection on a 2-1 correct score.
