Austin FC vs Portland Timbers Predictions
- Austin have drawn four of their last five MLS matches including their last two starts in Nashville.
- Portland Timbers have won just one of their last four league games (D1, L2).
- The visitors have also won just one of their five away starts this term, losing three.
Hosts ready to return to winning ways
Austin remain unbeaten at home this term after their decent 0-0 draw against Columbus Crew here on Tuesday and Josh Wolff’s men look worth siding with in the draw no bet market at Q2 Arena this Friday when they entertain out of form Portland Timbers.
The MLS new boys are languishing second bottom in the Western Conference, however, only two of their 11 matches this season have been at home. They’ve toughed out draws in both and in four of their last five outings overall, giving them a platform to potentially regain the winning thread when Portland make the trip to Texas this week.
The visitors were turned over 0-1 by Minnesota United on Monday and are in poor form at present, winning just one of their last four matches, losing two.
Timbers have also picked up just four points from their five outings on the road this season, so we’re keen to support the hosts in this one as they seek to eek out an important three points.
The draw no bet market offers some insurance against Austin posting a fifth stalemate in six, though we think the Texans can edge matters via a 1-0 score-line.
