Auxerre vs PSG Predictions

PSG looking to wrap up title

Paris Saint-Germain head to Auxerre on Sunday and they can all-but secure the title with a victory.

The Parisian outfit have a six point lead over second placed Lens with three games to play but their vastly superior goal difference means victory at the Stade de l’Abbe-Deschamps will essentially see them crowned as champions.

Boss Christophe Galtier does have a few selection issues, however, as full-backs Nuno Mendes (injured) and Achraf Hakimi (suspended) are both unavailable.

Auxerre can strike in defeat

PSG have won five of their last six overall and have won each of their last five trips in Ligue 1. It is hard to see the defending champions falling short at relegation-threatened Auxerre, but the hosts can at least get on the scoresheet.

AJA sit just one point and one place above the drop zone and have been scoring of late, as they have only failed to score in one of their last six at home and they are unbeaten during that run.

PSG have just one clean sheet in their last five games so may be liable to concede with their first choice full-backs among their absentees, and an away win with goals at both ends appeals as our main bet.

PSG can win with room to spare

PSG have won each of their last five away games in Ligue 1 and have scored at least twice in all of those fixtures. As such, a 3-1 win for the visitors appeals as they score on average 2.4 goals-per-game and managed five in a 5-0 win in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.

Kylian Mbappe is the obvious choice for an anytime goal as he has scored in each of his last five appearances, hitting seven goals in total, and is looking to beat Alexandre Lacazette of Lyon to the Ligue 1 top scorer honour.
