AZ vs Augsburg Betting Tips

AZ Alkmaar started the season poorly, but over the past few weeks they have picked themselves up and started putting together a run of decent results.

They are unbeaten in their last five competitive games, with their 1-1 draw at Cambuur being their latest collection of points.

This draw is the only time they have failed to win during this period, with their previous four draws seeing them net an impressive 14 times.

This includes a 2-1 win over Athletic in their second Europa League group game, taking their points tally to three following their 3-2 loss at Partizan Belgrade in the opening match.

This spell of good form for AZ couldn’t have come at a worse time for Augsburg, who will have been hoping to face an out of form side in the hopes of picking up a rare win.

Augsburg have only won one of their last 11 games in all competitions, with eight of these ending in defeat for the out of form Germans.

Their defensive instability will be a major concern as well. They have shipped 13 goals in their last five matches.

This leaves them rock bottom of the Bundesliga table with just five points from their opening nine league games.

Their two 3-1 defeats to Athletic and Partizan have also left them at the bottom of Europa League Group L, and despite their impressive efforts last season it doesn’t look like they’ll be making any headway this term.

This poor form isn’t showing any signs of letting up for Augsburg, and with AZ in such good form at the moment I’m expecting them to make full use of the home advantage and secure three points on Thursday. Excellent looking odds of 19/10 for a home win just make backing the home side all the more attractive.
