Azerbaijan vs Croatia Betting Tips

Azerbaijan managed to pick up a point in their last Euro 2016 qualifier when they travelled to Norway. They held their own in Oslo against the 3^rd placed side, matching them in both possession and shots on goal. Neither team could break the deadlock though, and it eventually ended 0-0.

This marked Azerbaijan’s fourth point of the campaign, following on from their 2-0 win over Malta after losing their first four matches in Group H.

Malta are the minnows of the group though, and a win at home against them was almost expected despite Azerbaijan’s relatively small status in the footballing world.

This puts Azerbaijan’s record at one win from their last ten games, with seven of those games ending in defeat for them.

They have conceded 21 goals during this period, including a 6-0 loss away against Thursday’s opponents Croatia.

This 6-0 win for Croatia continued their perfect record in the Euro 2016 qualifiers, and since then they have played out two 1-1 draws against Italy and a 5-1 victory over Norway.

This leaves them in a promising position in Group H, top of the group with only four games left to play. They have 14 points from their six opening games, two points more than second placed Italy.

Their lead in the group is well deserved as well. They have only conceded three times in their six games, and have scored an impressive 16 goals.

Ivan Perisic is the man that Azerbaijan need to watch. The attacker has netted 4 times in these qualifiers for Croatia. But the threat comes from other areas of the Croatian team as well, with Brozovic, Modric, and Kramaric each scoring twice as well.

Azerbaijan may well try and shut up shop to try and avoid defeat on Thursday, but that didn’t work in Croatia and I doubt it will work on Thursday either. Odds of 6/5 for a Croatia Win and Over 2.5 Goals look like very good value given their scoring form as well.

Considering they won 6-0 in the reverse fixture, backing Over 3.5 goals at 5/2 should be profitable as well.
