Leverkusen to be lit up on Saturday
Bayer Leverkusen host Mainz at BayArena as they hope to climb back into the top four following a disappointing run.
Leverkusen have slipped down the table following a great start to the season and they’ve picked up just seven points from their last possible 18. Despite this they are just a point behind Frankfurt in fourth place and know that a win here could move them back into the coveted Champions League places.
Mainz have struggled near the bottom of the table for the majority of the season but have put together a small bit of form in recent weeks to leave themselves just four points from safety. They still have it all to do however and will need to continue picking up wins where possible to avoid the drop.
Leverkusen are the much stronger side heading into this match and they hold the advantage but the small resurgence from Mainz will leave some doubt in the mind of the hosts this weekend. Mainz have scored against Bayern Munich, Dortmund and Leipzig in recent weeks and we’re backing them to find the net this weekend too with a prediction that both teams score.
Leverkusen should, ultimately, be too strong for their opponents though and we think they will manage to eek out a narrow 2-1 win.
