Bayer Leverkusen
    Roma

      Tip Reasoning

From the get go, Group E in the Champions League looked like it would be a case of Barcelona qualifying and then a straight shoot out between the other three teams, with Tuesday night’s competitors, Bayer Leverkusen and Roma, the favourites. Through two games, little has happened to change that perception, Barcelona were held by Roma, and last season’s Serie A runners-up lost on their trip to face BATE, but this game still feels pivotal.

Leverkusen’s start to the 2015-16 season has been solid, they’re currently seventh in the Bundesliga table after winning four of their first seven games. However, they’re win-less in their last three games in all competitions and having home advantage this time around might just place a little additional pressure on the German side.

Roma’s start to the season has been erratic. However, they are in second place in Serie A and they do have an impressive 1-1 draw with Barcelona in this competition. They need a big win, but they’ll have to tighten up defensively against Bayer, a team that can counter attack hard and score quick goals.

      Three Reasons for Betting Tips

      1. Bayer are dangerous at home

They thrashed BATE in the opening game of Champions League group play, winning 4-1. They’ve generally been strong at home in Bundesliga as well, they’re a tough side to dislodge at the BayArena.

      2. Roma’s slight fragility

At times, Roma are an attacking side to behold. They control possession in midfield, create lots of chances and pepper opponents. However, they can also be slightly fragile at times, especially if they don’t have their own way.

      3. Bundesliga over Serie A

We think that the German Bundesliga is the slightly stronger division this season. Serie A hasn’t looked particularly strong so far this season and it might show in this match-up.
