Bayer Leverkusen vs TSG Hoffenheim Predictions

Bayer in a blip

Bayer Leverkusen may be third in the Bundesliga, but they come into this one having lost their last two matches, a heavy 5-2 loss at Frankfurt at the weekend following a surprise 1-0 defeat to Ferencvaros in the UEFA Europa League.

Those two games highlight the defensive problems currently facing Gerardo Seoane’s side. They have not kept a clean sheet in five games, and have only managed two shut-outs in thirteen matches since the start of October.

In those 13 outings, both teams have scored on nine occasions, with six of those nine fixtures containing three of more goals.

Hoffenheim flying

Hoffenheim on the other hand are moving up the table after a run of four successive wins. They now sit just a point behind Leverkusen and come into this clash with one of the more impressive Bundesliga away records.

Sebastian Hoeneß’s side have won three times on the road, including a 2-1 victory at Freiburg at the weekend, which is one of four occasions when both teams have scored and there have been three or more goals in their eight away games in the Bundesliga.

They have only failed to score in four of their 15 league matches (Bayer have netted in 14 out of 15), so goals are surely expected in this one.

I predict both teams will score with there or more goals in the game, but given their respective recent form, think Hoffenheim could come out on top with a 2-1 correct score prediction.
