Bayern Munich to Win and Under 5.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Although Bayern are European giants and Auckland City are an amateur side, a complete rout looks unlikely. Munich have must-win games against Boca Juniors and Benfica on the horizon and may not be going full tilt against the Navy Blues, who can make it 18 Club World Cup matches without over 5.5 goals landing on Sunday.

      Bayern Munich 5-0

      Reason for tip

While a dominant Bayern win is likely, five could be their limit. Golden Boot-chasing Harry Kane will be aiming to get a head start on his competitors against lesser opposition but Vincent Kompany may limit the minutes of many of his stars and Munich last managed more than five goals in a game back in September.

Bayern Munich vs Auckland City Predictions

      • Bayern Munich ended the season by winning four of their final five games without conceding
      • Amateur side Auckland City have won the last four OFC Champions Leagues
      • Bayern have played four games at the Club World Cup, keeping a clean sheet in all of those

Bayern bound to make a winning start

Odds of 1-100 are rarely seen in club football. They are usually reserved for when a side like Spain face San Marino on the international stage but the odds compilers are clearly expecting an almighty domination when Bayern Munich face Auckland City in their Club World Cup opener on Sunday.

That is unsurprising, given the German champions have won two Club World Cup titles without conceding a goal while Auckland are still an amateur side.

With Harry Kane, Michaal Olise and Jamal Musiala all available, Vincent Kompany’s Bayern look set for a smooth-sailing victory. Although, this is not Auckland’s first rodeo and the bookies may be doing the Navy Blues a slight disservice.

      Minnows may avoid complete humiliation

Auckland have won the last for Oceania Champions Leagues and while Bayern are in another stratosphere to any side they will have faced in those runs, a winning mentality is never a bad thing.

This will also be their 13th Club World Cup appearance, more than any other side. None of their previous 17 CWC games went over 5.5 goals and they can avoid a complete humiliation in Cincinnati.

Kompany could rest players with tougher games against Boca Juniors and Benfica up next and a Bayern win with under six goals looks the best punting play for this one-sided clash.
