Bayern wounded after two league defeats

Bayern Munich have allowed Bayer Leverkusen to disappear over the horizon and there is a chance that they can be confirmed as Bundesliga champions this weekend, but Thomas Tuchel’s side will still want to make them fight for the title.

Bayern are 16 points behind after defeats to Borussia Dortmund and Heidenheim, but their Saturday clash with Cologne looks like a good chance for them to get back on track after a decent 2-2 draw at Arsenal in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Bavarians are the top scorers in the league with 80 goals and showed the lack of mercy they show towards strugglers when they won 8-1 at home to Mainz at the start of last month, so the Goats should be fearful.

Visitors may struggle to keep up

Cologne are desperate for points to drag themselves out of relegation trouble and build on the 2-1 success they earned over Bochum in their last outing that ended a run of seven winless matches.

The fact Bayern have conceded in five of their last six home league games may give them some encouragement, but it is difficult to see a team who have scored just 23 goals this season keeping pace with Harry Kane and his teammates.

The home side should claim a comfortable victory in a goal containing at least four goals and the odds on a 4-1 Bayern win are attractive.
