Unfortunate timing for Union

Bayern Munich suffered a blow at the weekend, losing 1-0 at home to Werder Bremen. They have fallen seven points shy of top spot and face an uphill battle to retain their Bundesliga crown.

Thomas Tuchel has to find himself under pressure, having taken them to last season’s title by the slimmest of margins. However, Tuchel made responding after a defeat a key part of his Chelsea side and his Bayern team have won immediately after their last five defeats across all competitions.

Bayern meet a Union Berlin side who have been terrible this term, going from last season’s top four finish to losing 10 of 16 games this term. The visitors have lost their five meetings with the top six, conceding 17 times and losing by three clear goals on four occasions.
