Bayern Munich to Win and Over 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Bayern have won seven of their last eight Bundesliga home games with over 3.5 goals in each. Meanwhile, Union have lost their last two Bundesliga matches 3-1 and 4-0.

4/9odds when tipped

Bayern Munich 4-0

Reason for tip

Bayern have bagged 10 goals in two home games this term and regularly scored four or more in the Bundesliga last term. The Iron Ones have conceded three or more goals in four of their last six games against Bayern, so they can expect to ship a few in Munich.

Luis Diaz To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Luis Diaz could be due a start against Union, against whom he scored last season, after starting on the bench against Elversberg last time out. He scored 15 goals in 32 Bundesliga appearances last season (27 starts).

Bayern wide men offer better value than Kane

It would be a major shock if Bayern Munich didn’t beat struggling Union Berlin comfortably in Friday night’s Bundesliga clash at Allianz Arena. Vincent Kompany’s side have been a bit off their best in the opening weeks of the campaign, which is perhaps understandable after a World Cup summer.

But they hit their stride in the second half of last week’s 5-0 Champions League demolition of Bodo/Glimt and found a crucial winner when Elversberg played the Cinderella role against them last weekend.

Harry Kane stepped up to the plate to fire the winner against the Bundesliga newcomers and he should always be the first consideration for an anytime goalscorer after hitting the back of the net 61 times last season. But his odds are now so short that it is hardly worth bothering with the likes of Luis Diaz or Michael Olise offering better value at around the 4/5 mark.

Union have a defensive void

Bayern have hit five goals apiece in both of their home games so far this season and it is hard to see how Union avoid a thrashing given they are coming off two heavy Bundesliga defeats against Leverkusen and Schalke.

The Iron Ones failed to muster a single chance in the 4-0 defeat at Leverkusen, taking no shots on target and allowing ten. Promoted side Schalke then claimed all three points at Alte Forsterei last Friday in a 3-1 win that exposed more flaws.

The departures of defenders Danilho Doekhi and Diogo Leite to Lazio in the summer have left a big void in a backline that has conceded 12 goals in four competitive matches. Back Bayern to win with at least four goals in the game and Diaz to be on the scoresheet.
