Belarus vs Wales Predictions
- Wales have just five defeats in their last 24 games.
- All of those defeats have come against teams ranked in the world’s top 11 by Fifa.
- Belarus have lost their last three games.
Wales can pass Belarus test
Wales played out a 0-0 draw in Finland in a midweek friendly and now return to their World Cup 2022 qualification campaign with a game against Belarus on Sunday.
The match will be played in Kazan, Russia, so it is technically being held at a neutral location, although Belarus should have more support in the venue regardless and it will have the feel of a home fixture for them.
The Belrausians can be a tough team to beat with home advantage but they go into this game on the back of three straight defeats and I’m expecting the Welsh to come away with maximum points.
Wales are missing a few key men, including Aaron Ramsey and David Brooks, but they still have plenty of quality within the squad and can overpower Belarus on Sunday.
Rob Page’s men have lost four of their last 10 games but those defeats have been against France, Belgium, Italy and Denmark and Belarus are nowhere near that kind of level.
When Wales do win, they usually keep a clean sheet and 10 of their last 11 wins have all been to nil. I’m expecting that pattern to continue on Sunday, with a 2-0 win for the away side my correct score selection.
