Benfica sit just one point off top spot in Primera Liga after beating over Sporting Braga before the international break, while they impressively held Barcelona to a 0-0 draw in the Champions League in midweek.

Indeed, their only two defeats in their last nine games have both come at the hands of Bayern Munich in continental football. Away from home domestically, they have racked up five wins from six games, scoring 14 goals and conceding just three in the process.

Jorge Jesus’ side have the best away record in terms of points collected, goals scored and goals conceded in the division. In their six away games, four have been won with two or more goals scored in the match, showing just how formidable an opponent they are.

Belenenses In Trouble

The form book may say three wins in five games for Nuno Oliveira’s side, but two of those victories were against lower league teams in cup competitions. They have still registered only one win in Primera Liga this season.

Belenenses’ two home league defeats have both been in games containing two or more goals and although they tend to keep things reasonably tight, they lack the firepower to trouble Portugal’s top teams.
