Birmingham vs Bristol City Predictions
These two sides have both made strong starts to the season overall and will have their eyes on at least challenging for a play-off spot. They are both without a win in three games though so probably would’ve been grateful for the international break to try and work on a few things.
Bristol City’s recent form has been more concerning though. They had a lot of success in the opening weeks of the season when Tammy Abraham was in red hot form up front but he’s only netted once in the Robins’ last six outings and it’s no coincidence that Bristol City’s results have suffered as a result. Four of those matches have ended in defeat with a solitary 1-0 home win over struggling Blackburn cause not to get too excited. Therefore, they head to the Second City a little bit low on confidence and that won’t be helped by a really poor recent record against the Blues.
Birmingham’s form has slumped a little but most of their recent problems have been on the road. They’ve only suffered one defeat in 10 Championship home games and have won four of the last six at St Andrews, so with the visitors not looking in great shape, they’ll fancy they can get the win. The Blues have the 7th best home record in the Championship with an average of 1.88 points per game while Bristol City’s away record is only the 15th best, with 50% of their away matches ending in defeat.
Therefore, the evidence here certainly points towards the hosts as the side most likely to bag maximum points. Birmingham have only failed to score in 1 of their last 21 Championship home matches and with a strong record against Bristol City, backing Birmingham 0 Asian Handicap at 29/40 looks a safe punt here.
