Both teams to score in Gothenburg

Strasbourg should expect to face a tough time in Gothenburg from struggling Swedish club BK Hacken, who are capable of competing with anyone on their ‘home’ turf. They play European games at Gamla Ullevi, home of their city rivals IFK Gothenburg, but did not look out of place in a 2-2 draw against Rayo Vallecano on matchday two.

The Wasps were stung by a controversial stoppage-time penalty awarded to the Spaniards after a fairly innocuous challenge in the box. It was a sickener for them after battling back from a goal down to deservedly lead 2-1.

They play a high press with full backs pushed forward, but can be caught out by quick transitions or accurate long balls into the wide spaces, so there is certainly scope for Strasbourg to score.

Nanasi knows the way to goal

Both teams have scored in four of the Ligue 1 side’s last five matches and, amid an inconsistent run of results, goals at both ends have been fairly constant. BTTS has landed in Hacken’s last five matches too.

Strasbourg will make changes from their 4-1 defeat to Rennes last weekend, but winger Sebastian Nanasi can expect to play from the start. The Swede will be keen to impress back on home soil and has scored in each of his last two appearances for Strasbourg.

Back a 2-1 win for the French club based on their greater attacking depth, but this is tougher than their match odds suggest and may not be decided until the closing stages.
