Blackburn Rovers Draw No Bet

Reason for tip

Blackburn have won six of their last eight home Championship games while Cardiff are winless in their last six league games (2 defeats, 4 draws). Additionally, Rovers should have taken a point at Cardiff earlier this season.

Blackburn Rovers vs Cardiff Predictions

  • Blackburn have won six of their last eight home Championship games.
  • Cardiff are winless in their last six league games (2 defeats, 4 draws)
  • The Bluebirds have failed to score in seven of their last 11 away league contests.
  • Blackburn should have taken a point at Cardiff earlier this season.

Blackburn can bounce back against blunt Bluebirds

Blackburn should have too much for a Cardiff side that are slowly sinking back toward the relegation zone when they host the Bluebirds on New Year’s Day.

Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side remain in third place at the turn of the year, despite losing five of their last seven Championship fixtures. They led for almost all of the first half on Thursday before Middlesbrough stepped up the pace of their attacks and overturned the deficit, but Cardiff are a very different side to Michael Carrick’s promotion-chasing Boro.

Mark Hudson’s men know they won’t get much success in going toe-to-toe with their opponents and play a reactive style, looking to keep things tight. That has seen them draw four straight games after losing the two before to construct the division’s third-longest winless streak.

Draw no bet makes sense in this scenario

That sequence of draws just puts enough doubt into backing Blackburn to get a seventh home win in nine at the match result price of 13/10, but the draw no bet offers decent sanctuary at around 4/6.

Rovers were denied a late equaliser by a penalty save at Cardiff back in October when the referee blew his whistle to award the spot-kick just as Ben Brereton-Diaz was in the act of forcing the ball home.

If Rovers do get the job done this time, it will probably be by the minimum scoreline as it’s worth noting that two of their last three Championship wins have been 1-0s. Cardiff have failed to score in seven of their last 11 away league contests.
