Crystal Palace vs Liverpool Predictions
- Liverpool have won five of their opening six Premier League games (L1).
- Crystal Palace remain without a league victory.
- Palace have scored in five of their last six games across all comps.
Liverpool looking to stay ahead
Liverpool lead the way in the Premier League after six rounds of fixtures and they can make sure they finish the weekend in top spot with a victory at Crystal Palace in the early kick off on Saturday.
The Eagles won at Anfield when these sides last met towards the end of last season in a result that put a huge dint in Liverpool’s bid for the title in Jurgen Klopp’s final season in charge.
A repeat result looks unlikely on Saturday, however, as Palace are yet to pick up a league win and Liverpool come into the game in fine form.
Back the visitors to win and concede
Liverpool are the clear favourites and they should be able to avoid slipping up on Saturday despite their mixed recent record against their hosts (W1, L1, D2 across last four games).
Arne Slot’s side have won five of their opening six games, while Palace have just three points on the board and their only wins have come against Championship opponents in the EFL Cup.
Goals haven’t necessarily been the problem for the Eagles as they have scored in five of their last six games across all competitions, and they scored in both league meetings with Liverpool last season.
The visitors have conceded in four of their last six games across all competitions and in each of their last two away from home, so backing Liverpool to win and concede appeals as a way to get an odds-against price out of backing the favourites.
Liverpool have scored at least twice in each of their four away games this season and can keep that run going on Saturday, while they are yet to concede more than once in any game. Despite their struggles, Palace haven’t conceded more than twice in any game so a 2-1 win for the visitors is the correct score prediction.
