Blackburn are enduring a season to forget as they sit second from bottom in the Championship table ahead of the visit of Southampton this season.

Rovers have seven defeats and just two wins from 10 Championship games and neither of those victories have come a Ewood Park.

Southampton have also struggled since dropping out of the Premier League last season but this trip to Lancashire looks like a good chance to pick up three points.

Saints went down 3-1 at Bristol City in midweek but they were on top in the early stages and opened up a lead, before allowing the high-flying Robins to fight back. A similar strong start at Blackburn might be enough to kill off the game against a team who are clearly lacking confidence.

Rovers have only failed to score in one of their six home games across all competitions so they may be able to get on the scoresheet and a 2-1 win for the visitors has a chance in the correct score market. Saints have just one clean sheet in their last seven, while three of Blackburn’s home defeats have been 2-1 losses.
