Blackburn Rovers vs West Bromwich Albion Predictions

Monday’s clash between Blackburn and West Brom at Ewood Park is unlikely to be a goalfest. Four of the last six Championship meetings between these sides have finished with under 2.5 goals and that trend looks set to continue.

Blackburn are one place above West Brom in the table, but both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season. The hosts, who are 19th with 12 wins and 18 defeats, are just two points ahead of the visitors in 20th.

West Brom are hard to beat, having avoided defeat in six of their last seven Championship games. They were 1-0 winners over Bristol City in their last away game two weeks ago. For their part, Blackburn have gone unbeaten in five of the last six head-to-heads at home.

Todd Cantwell’s 69th-minute strike secured a 1-0 win for Blackburn against Birmingham in their last Championship game on Friday, and the result kept up their recent trend for matches with under 2.5 goals. They will have been pleased with the three points, having been priced at 10/3 to win the game.

Both teams have been disappointing up front this season. Blackburn have scored only 37 goals in 40 Championship games, while West Brom’s attacking threat has also been limited, with just 42 goals in 40 matches.

Four of West Brom’s last six Championship away games have ended with under 2.5 goals, and there have been under 2.5 goals in 11 of Blackburn’s last 13 home games.

West Brom were 1-0 winners against Blackburn last time they met in the Championship, and a narrow away win looks on the cards here. A 1-0 victory for West Brom is the correct-score pick.
