Blackburn vs Brentford Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Brentford have been highly unpredictable this season. They’ve put in some dominant displays, with 5 of their 6 wins coming by at least a 2 goal margin. They’ve caused some of the stronger sides real problems. However, they’ve also slipped up in games you might have expected them to win and they remain the only team to have lost to bottom club Rotherham. Their last three matches have all ended in 2-0 away wins with the Bees coming out on top at QPR but losing at home to Barnsley and Fulham so it’s often tough to know which Brentford side is going to show up.

Earlier on in the season, you’d have backed them to come here and win but Blackburn look a much more solid outfit now and at the very least are becoming a tougher side to beat. Only 1 of their last 16 matches in all competitions have been settled by more than one goal so almost all their games have been quite close with the result on the line going into the closing moments. Although they remain 2nd bottom, they’ve only lost 1 of their last 5 home games so there is evidence to suggest they are well capable of getting a result here with Brentford not totally convincing right now.

Whether Blackburn will have enough to win the game is more doubtful though. They have become very reliant on Sam Gallagher to provide them with goals. He has netted 44% of their goals in the Championship this term and is the only Blackburn player to have found the net in their last seven matches. Given that, backing Gallagher to score any time at 15/8 looks a really tempting bet here but it also suggests that Rovers are going to struggle to put this game to bed.

They’ve kept just one clean sheet all season in the Championship and given that an away goal at some point looks highly likely too and backing a 1-1 draw at 5/1 might be the best bet in the correct score market.
