      Blackburn vs Hull Predictions

The Tigers have really enhanced their chances of an immediate return to the Premier League after a fine start to the new year. They won all 6 matches in January to make good progress in the FA Cup and also climb to the top of the Championship while their rivals suffered numerous slip-ups.

Their progress was stunted last week though with a 1-0 defeat at Burnley and they slipped to 2nd by virtue of Middlesbrough’s midweek draw. They are pretty clear favourites to win this but don’t have a brilliant away record in the league. They’ve only won 2 of their last 7 Championship away matches, losing 4 of them so there is hope for Blackburn here.

Rovers were struggling for results around the festive period but have picked up a bit in recent weeks. They are unbeaten in 4 matches now, which is particularly impressive when you consider all 4 games were away from home. 2 of those were in the FA Cup at lower league clubs and like Hull they have made it into next week’s 5th Round.

They got an excellent 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough last Saturday which suggests their improvement may be genuine and as they play their first home game in a month, Blackburn look good value at 8/11 to avoid defeat again here.

They are unlikely to win the game outright though as goal-scoring remains a bit of a problem for them and the departure of Jordan Rhodes hasn’t helped that. They are a pretty well-organised side though and with Hull perhaps also lacking a bit of killer instinct the draw looks the most likely outcome here.

3 of Blackburn’s last 4 league games have finished 1-1 and at 5/1 you can back that to be the case again here.
