      Ipswich to Win

      Reason for tip

Ipswich have won seven of their last eight league fixtures while Blackburn have won just once in the league in 2024. Rovers were also defeated 4-3 in the reverse fixture at Portman Road and could find things difficult against the strongest attack in the division.

      Ipswich 3-2

      Reason for tip

Games featuring Ipswich recently have seen plenty of goals, with at least five strikes finding the back of the net in three of their last six. The Tractor Boys came out on top in each of these and could be at the free-scoring best on Saturday. However, Blackburn to boast the league’s top scorer in Sammie Szmodics and should be able to cause their own havoc in front of goal and so a 3-2 scoreline draws the most appeal.

      Blackburn Rovers vs Ipswich Predictions

      • Blackburn are winless in eight league games
      • Ipswich have lost just one of their last nine
      • The Tractor Boys have the second best away record in the Championship

Tractor Boys can continue their promotion push with victory

An nine game winless run across all competitions has seen John Eustace’s Blackburn side drop to within touching distance of the relegation zone, with just three points separating 17th placed Rovers with 22nd placed Huddersfield Town.

Despite possessing the league’s top goalscorer in Sammie Szmodics (21 goals), Blackburn’s defensive woes have cost them on far too many occasions this season – with only the league’s bottom side Rotherham conceding more than their 64.

Three of these goals against came in the reverse fixture in September as Ipswich ran out 4-3 winners in a thriller at Portman Road and another Kieran McKenna’s men could be on the right side of another goal-fest on Saturday, with their last 12 league matches featuring a total of 48 goals – an average of  four goals per game.

Blackburn were beaten in each of their other two home meetings with Ipswich’s fellow title rivals Leicester and Leeds and another defeat should be expected on Saturday. With goals unlikely to be an issue for either side, another close affair could be on the cards and a 3-2 win for the visitors draws the eye.
