      Under 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

These are the two lowest-scoring sides in the Championship, with just 44 goals netted in a combined 58 games. Under 2.5 goals has landed in each of Sheffield Wednesday’s last five games and in seven of Blackburn’s last ten.

      Blackburn Rovers 1-0

      Reason for tip

Sheffield Wednesday have lost their last seven games without scoring and Blackburn could end their own winless run here. Rovers have only lost two of their last seven home matches, but they struggle for goals so may have to settle for the narrowest of margins.

Blackburn Rovers vs Sheffield Wednesday Predictions

      • These sides have scored just 44 goals in 58 combined games this season.
      • Under 2.5 goals has landed in each of Sheffield Wednesday’s last five fixtures.

Goals in short supply as Rovers clip Owls’ wings

The two lowest-scoring sides in the Championship lock horns at Ewood Park on Tuesday, and another drab affair is expected from the struggling duo.

Even without their 18-point deduction, Sheffield Wednesday would be cut adrift at the bottom of the second-tier table, and they head to Blackburn with by far the worst attacking record in the division.

The Owls have not scored a goal since Boxing Day, while hosts Blackburn have averaged less than a goal per game this season and they have failed to score in three of their last five ties.

The result of this miserable attacking form has been plenty of low-scoring results, with under 2.5 goals landing in seven of Blackburn’s last ten and each of Wednesday’s last five.

The reverse fixture ended goalless in December, but Blackburn should be able to draw on the home crowd to claim a narrow victory. Sheffield Wednesday have lost their last seven games without scoring, so a 1-0 win for the hosts alongside under 2.5 goals appeals.
