Doncaster vs Port Vale Predictions
These two sides are right next to each other in the standings in 11th and 12th positions with Vale 1 point better off. Both have outside chances of making the play-offs in what has been a fairly open league this year with anyone capable of beating anyone else on their day.
Doncaster particularly will feel they can still reach the top six having recovered very well from a poor start to the season. They have taken 22 points from their last 12 matches with half of them ending in victory and their form over that period is up there with the sides at the top of this league so they might feel with good reason that they are a bit better than what their current 12th place suggests.
Port Vale by contrast have fallen back a bit over the past couple of months and there is the feeling that these sides are perhaps heading in opposing directions. The side from the Potteries has taken only 8 points from their last 8 games in the league and were also knocked out of the FA Cup by League Two Exeter in that period.
One interesting point to note here is that Port Vale haven’t drawn an away game since August. Their last 12 away from home in the league have resulted in 3 wins and 9 defeats so the ‘draw no bet’ market isn’t really worth dabbling in here and with Rovers on the up, a home win looks the best value at 21/20.
6 of those 9 Port Vale away defeats have been to nil so consider taking a punt on a solid 2-0 home win at good odds of 9/1.
