Bolton vs Brighton Predictions
Chris Hughton’s side have made a brilliant start to the season and one that not many saw coming. They are sure to hit a rocky spell at some point but against a struggling Bolton side there is no reason why they can’t keep this run going for a while longer. 6 wins and 2 draws from their opening 8 games certainly represents an outstanding start and they have been defensively solid when they’ve needed to be but have also possessed a clear goal threat even against strong opposition.
You wouldn’t put Bolton in that category right now. They’ve only won once in the league this season and were hammered 4-1 at fellow strugglers Huddersfield last time out. Given they’ve only scored 4 goals so far this season and just don’t look that threatening going forward, Neil Lennon is already reliant on his defence to be very strong and results like that will really set the alarm bells ringing at the Macron.
Brighton looked upon their point at Wolves last time out as a good one but they are sure to come here looking for the win. The way both clubs have been playing so far, you have to fancy them to get it too and you can back an away win here at tempting odds of 13/10.
The Seagulls will be more positive than some of the previous visitors to Bolton this season and that could help the home side’s more creative players to find a bit more space and cause one or two problems of their own. Therefore you could see Bolton scoring but perhaps only once given their awful goalscoring record this term.
However it might not be enough to get anything from the game. Brighton’s 6 wins have all been by a single goal and they aren’t good enough to completely run away with this but with the confidence they possess right now, they are the more likely side to nick it.
Therefore consider taking a punt on Brighton to win 2-1 at odds of 8/1.
