Bolton vs Cardiff Predictions
It is still just one win all season for Neil Lennon’s side although there were some encouraging signs in their 1-1 draw against Brentford last time out. Wanderers equalised through Neil Danns and had spells were they threatened to grab a winner but for the 9th time this season, they ended up with just a point.
Although they are bottom of the table, they have avoided defeat in over half of their matches so they are not being completely outclassed and they have only tasted defeat once on home soil although clearly they are going to have to start turning draws into wins if they are to stay in the division.
Cardiff have a similar problem having drawn 8 times so far this season in the league. They are only 2 points off the top six though but they’ve only won one of their last 6 matches and you have to go back to August for their only away win of the campaign so far.
This does not have the makings of a classic with both sides relatively low on confidence and short on goals. Cardiff haven’t scored in any of their last 4 away games but have picked up two 0-0 draws in that period. Both teams have scored in only 1 of their last 8 matches in the Championship and generally the goals don’t flow when they are involved.
Up against the division’s least potent strike-force, they might fancy keeping a clean sheet here but Bolton are fairly solid at the back for a side in their position, especially at home so backing ‘No’ in the ‘Both teams to Score’ market at 5/6 is surely a sensible ploy here.
It’s just hard to see either side having enough to win this one and another draw for Bolton could be on the cards and at 8/1 backing it to finish goalless looks appealing given between them these teams have featured in eight 0-0 draws already this term.
