It was an impressive display of spirit from players who aren’t being paid and are winless in 15 games but they are now 6 points from safety and in desperate need of 3 points to drag themselves back towards their rivals at the bottom.

If Fulham aren’t careful they could be dragged into that battle too. They haven’t won any of their last 7 league games and have taken only 3 points from them. That has left them in 17th place in the league and any early season hopes of promotion contention must seem like a distant memory.
