Bonnyrigg Rose
Dundee

Dundee To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

There are three divisions between these two teams and Dundee should make their class tell, especially as they are on a 10-match unbeaten run and they also lost the fewest away matches in the Scottish Championship last season.

Dundee 3-0

Reason for tip

Dundee should have far too much for fourth-tier opponents Bonnyrigg, with Tony Docherty’s side having ended last season on a 10-match unbeaten run, while they also conceded the fewest away goals in the Scottish Championship last term.

Bonnyrigg Rose vs Dundee Predictions

  • Dundee ended last season on a 10-match unbeaten run
  • The Dee lost the fewest away matches in the Scottish Championship last season
  • No team picked up fewer home points than Bonnyrigg in last season’s Scottish League Two

Dundee too good for hosts

Dundee will be playing their first competitive match since they secured promotion back to the Premiership on the final day of last season, although they have since seen manager Gary Bowyer depart.

Bowyer led the Dee on a 10-match unbeaten run at the end of last season, but they have shown no signs of slowing down since the arrival of his replacement, Tony Docherty, who has won all five of his pre-season games in charge.

Docherty will expect his side to pick up another comfortable win on Tuesday, especially when you consider Dundee lost the fewest away matches of any team in last season’s Scottish Championship and they also conceded the fewest away goals.

Bonnyrigg in for a tough evening

It was mission accomplished for Bonnyrigg during their first season in the SPFL, as they preserved their Scottish League Two status despite ending the campaign with the worst home record in the division.

The Rose lost exactly half of their 18 league matches at New Dundas Park during 2022/23 and they may struggle to contain Dundee given they also let in more home goals than anyone else in Scottish League Two last term.

A spirited 2-1 defeat at Inverness CT in their opening Scottish League Cup clash on Saturday showed Bonnyrigg can hold their own against most teams, but it is hard to see them laying a glove on their Premiership rivals this midweek.
