Borussia Dortmund vs Legia Warsaw Predictions
Borussia Dortmund can’t be too unhappy with how their Champions League campaign has panned out so far this season. They have won three and drawn one of their matches and find themselves top of the group with just two games left to play. Qualification to the knockout stages is already sealed, and a win on Tuesday could potentially tie up the top spot.
Their Bundesliga campaign hasn’t exactly been a resounding success so far, with a number of needless draws pegging them back and putting them 5th in the table after ten games.
Borussia Dortmund’s domestic season did take a turn for the better on Saturday though as they beat arch rivals Bayern Munich 1-0 at home to make it three wins on the bounce for them and eight games unbeaten. They will feel very confident about making it four in a row after their last encounter with Legia Warsaw as well.
They beat the struggling Polish side 6-0 away from home in September, and now they’re at home the visitors are in for a really tough time. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted the only goal of the game on Saturday to take his tally to 12 Bundesliga goals in ten matches this season. He has scored three in three in the Champions League as well, with six of his 13 total goals coming on home soil. This makes him an excellent choice for our anytime goalscorer predictions.
Legia Warsaw have improved since that disastrous night in September, and their 4-1 win on Friday made it five wins from their last six games, with the other one being a 3-3 draw at home to Real Madrid. This dramatic match gave them their first points of the Champions League campaign, but in all honesty they are very unlikely to add to that on Tuesday.
Away from home Legia Warsaw may have won their last three matches, but prior to that they had lost four and drawn one in a run of five winless games. They conceded 12 goals in these five games as well and have conceded four in their last three, so defensively they’re not up to scratch at all.
This is more a case of how many Borussia Dortmund could win by, and our predictions suggest that it’s a lot. They have handed out a fair few hammerings this season and Legia Warsaw have been known to collapse at the back. Odds of 1.800 for a Borussia Dortmund -2.5 Asian Handicap Win look good value for money, so I’m backing that along with a 4-0 Dortmund win for our correct score predictions at 7/1.
