Borussia Monchengladbach vs Cologne Predictions

A resurgent performance is needed from the Foals

A shocking 5-1 drubbing by Werder Bremen last time out was not ideal for Borussia Monchengladbach, yet the fact that half of their conceded league goals all season came in that one game suggests that they are capable of much better performances.

The hosts will be glad to be bach back at Borussia-Park as it is here that they picked up 75% of their league points so far this season (W3, L1). The Foals hadn’t conceded more than a single goal in five straight games leading up to the Bremen defeat, so new boss Daniel Farke will hope for a resurgent bounce back to form against Cologne.

The visitors have posted differing results across each of their competitive matches this season, a run culminating with a 1-0 defeat to Partizan Belgrade in their midweek European encounter. The Billy Goats have enjoyed a relatively strong start to the season, but they could struggle here, especially given their considerable injury list.

Back the Foals for the win

Although this is arguably one of the hardest Bundesliga games to call this weekend, we’re taking a risk on the home side bouncing back to form against a potentially tired and depleted Cologne side.
