Breidablik vs Valur Betting Tips & Predictions

Breidablik narrowly missed out on the Iceland Urvaldeild title last season when they finished the campaign in 2nd position, two points off champions FH. This season is going remarkably similarly so far, with Breidablik sitting two points behind FH once again.

The only difference is the presence of Fjolnir in 2nd place between the two sides, but it’s still in the early stages of the season and the title is well up for grabs from a number of sides in the Urvaldeild.

Breidablik opened this campaign with a defeat to the newly promoted Vikingur Olafsik that wasn’t the prediction of most, but the newcomers to the league have shown some class since then as well so the home defeat certainly doesn’t seem as embarrassing as it did back then. Since then Breidablik have only lost twice more, winning all five of their other Urvaldeild games along with two Iceland Cup victories to keep them in the hunt for another trophy.

Valur have seen off Fjolnir and Vikingur Reykjavik in the cup so far, and a main focus of them will be to retain the trophy that they claimed last season. Their Urvalsdeild campaign isn’t going particularly well though. They have only picked up ten points from their opening eight games and find themselves in 7th position.

A main factor in this disappointing return was their consecutive defeats right at the beginning of the season when Fjolnir and Vikingur Reykjavik beat them, and since then they have won five, drawn one, and lost two of their games in all competitions.

Two of their three defeats have come away from home though, and they’re facing a Breidablik side who are very capable and are focusing heavily on league success. This makes odds of 4/5 for a Breidablik Draw No Bet look good value to me, and that’s what I’m predicting alongside a 2-1 correct score prediction at 10/1.
