      Brentford vs Brighton Predictions

Their 21 match unbeaten start to the season was emphatically ended last time out when they were beaten 3-0 at home by new leaders Middlesbrough. It also leaves Brighton without a win in 3 matches and having conceded 2 or more goals in all of their last 4.

This will be a big test of Brighton’s character and whether or not they are capable of bouncing back from their first major setback of the season. They might have liked an easier fixture than this to try and get back to winning ways though as Brentford are going along nicely and forcing themselves into the play-off reckoning under new boss Dean Smith.

They’ve won 7 of their last 12 Championship matches, losing just twice and find themselves just 2 points outside the top 6 as a result. Brentford have been scoring plenty but also conceding a fair few of late, much like their opponents. The West Londoners have scored twice or more in all of their last 4 matches but have only kept 1 clean sheet in their last 8.

Both teams have netted twice or more in all of the last 3 matches involving Brentford and both teams have scored at least once in 6 of their last 7. Prior to their 3-0 defeat against Middlesbrough, who may well prove the class act in the division, both teams had netted in all of Brighton’s previous 6 matches.

Therefore backing both teams to score here looks extremely good value at 8/11.

Some people are expecting Brighton to fall off badly now they have finally lost and while that may be unlikely, their spirit will have been dented by that defeat and this is a really tough place to go looking to bounce back. Therefore backing a confident Brentford side, who were 4-2 winners at home last Saturday, to win 2-1 here at 17/2 looks a good bet.
