Tip Reasoning

  • Brentford have lost their last six games in all competitions.
  • The Bees have conceded 18 goals during that run and have scored just four themselves.
  • Palace are unbeaten in their last three away from home (W1, D2).
  • Palace have managed just one away clean sheet this season.

Brentford looking to halt slide

Brentford entertain Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday and the hosts will be desperate to halt their losing run.

The Bees have lost their last six games across all competitions and have conceded 18 goals during that run, scoring just four themselves.

Palace were held to a 1-1 draw at Norwich in midweek but were perhaps unlucky not to take all three points as they dominated possession and managed 13 attempts to the Canaries’ five,

Brentford have a few injury concerns and new arrival Christian Eriksen may have to wait a while longer for his debut. Palace also have a few injury issues with James Tomkins and Cheikhou Kouyate rated as doubts.

Palace well placed for rare away win

The Eagles have only managed one win on their travels in the league this term, a 2-0 win at Manchester City, and this trip to an out-of-form Brentford offers a chance to claim a second.

Palace are unbeaten in their last three trips in all competitions, with one win and two draws, and with Brentford struggling they can build on that run with three points.

The visitors have lost just three of their last 10 games across all competitions and those defeats have all come against teams currently in the top seven.

Brentford have lost seven of their last 10 at home, including a loss to struggling Norwich, and based on form a win for Palace at a big price has real appeal here.

Brentford could be good for a goal

Brentford may be in the middle of a woeful run but at home they have at least been scoring and they’ve managed a goal in each of their last three at home.

Palace’s only away clean sheet came in that unlikely win at City so we may well see goals at both ends and as the visitors haven’t managed more than two goals in any of their trips this season a 2-1 win for Palace appeals in the correct score market.
