Brentford vs Huddersfield Predictions

Brentford had a disappointing start to the campaign in their visit to Birmingham, with the Bees making their typical bad start. Things aren’t entirely back on track, but their 2-0 win at Southampton was a start. However, problems at Brentford shouldn’t play a part when they host a Huddersfield side who look incredibly poor.

The Terriers have lost both of their games this season, going down 1-0 to League One Rochdale in the EFL Cup before a 1-0 defeat to Norwich last weekend. Huddersfield offered very little against the Canaries, while their attempt to hold out was eventually broken down by one of the league’s strongest sides.

Brentford are among those top sides even without a couple of last season’s stars, leaving them worthy favourites in their first game at their new Community Stadium home. The visitors lost eight of their trips to the top nine last term, have started with consecutive losses and look blunt up front after the departure of Steve Mounie and the continued absence of Karlan Grant. Between them the pair scored 27 of their 52 Championship goals last season.

Huddersfield have little up front to trouble an excellent Brentford defence, so we think the value here lies in Brentford to edge this one. A home win to nil is our first prediction, while we’re backing another 1-0 loss for the Terriers.
