Brentford vs Hull Predictions
Lee Carsley has made a brilliant start to his managerial career and has guided Brentford to 4 wins on the trot coming into this game. He has made the Londoners a more defensively solid side and they have kept 3 clean sheets in a row ahead of this game yet the Bees are still a threat at the other end and are suddenly playing with real confidence and vigour again.
However this is a real test against a Hull side that are looking well placed to make an immediate return to the Premier League. The Tigers have also won their last 4 games in all competitions and are 2nd in the Championship, with a Capital One Cup Quarter Final to also look forward to.
Hull have only failed to score in 1 of their 18 matches in all competitions this season and although they rarely win games by big scorelines they almost always seem to find a way to break through and will provide Brentford’s newly improved defence with a stern examination. They’ve not failed to score in 10 matches since a 1-0 defeat at leaders Brighton, a side they could dethrone and move top of the division with a win here.
Both teams have scored in 11 of the last 14 Championship matches at Griffin Park and although Brentford have got through 3 different managers in that period, they are still a side that likes to get forward and have only failed to net in 1 of their last 17 home league games.
Therefore at 5/6 it looks a solid idea to back both teams to score in this match.
It won’t necessarily be a really high scoring game though. 4 of Hull’s last 9 matches have finished 1-1 and this looks like a strong contender to be another one. It wouldn’t be an awful result for either side given both are in excellent form and won’t want to taste defeat so at 5/1 consider taking a punt on a 1-1 draw here.
