      Brentford vs Leeds Predictions

Both teams were winners at the weekend to end brief spells where they had been struggling somewhat. Brentford picked up an excellent 3-1 win away from home against in-form Preston. Goals from Alan Judge and Jon Swift settled the game for the Londoners and it was a much needed 3 points given their start to 2016.

They had lost all 4 matches this calendar year prior to that and new boss Dean Smith has had to deal with a few off-field issues and there could still be comings and goings at Griffin Park this month which may determine whether or not Brentford are still capable of mounting a top six challenge.

Leeds are 4 points worse off than their opponents but that translates to 6 places in a congested middle of the league. Time is running out for Leeds if they are to seriously be top six contenders and a safe mid-table finish may be the best they can hope for.

Leeds were winners at home to Bristol City at the weekend, an important result as it extended their lead on the bottom three to 11 points and with that sort of margin they can come here and attack the game with little fear given a draw isn’t likely to do much to change their situation.

Brentford have the worst defensive record outside the bottom six and conceded 3 times in the 1st half in their last home match. Therefore Leeds should get some joy and will certainly find gaps in the home defence but the Bees play some excellent attacking football at times too so backing both teams to score here seems a sensible bet at 5/6.

With home advantage, Brentford might just edge this though particularly given they are fresh from an excellent win on Saturday. At 8/1 they can be backed to secure a 2-1 victory here.
