Leeds thriving off Brentford boost

A victory at Brentford on the final day last season secured their Premier League place and they haven’t wasted that opportunity. Since their late survival bid last term, Leeds have only lost once in five matches in this new campaign.

Jesse Marsch has added a real attacking verve since last season, having lost their main threat in Raphinha. Even with Rodrigo out injured, the visitors return to Brentford expecting to cause some problems.

Bees fallen from high

Brentford enjoyed probably their best ever Premier League result earlier this month, hammering Manchester United 4-0. However, they’ve been unable to match that high since, failing to win their following three league matches.

The Bees have dropped points to Fulham, Everton and Palace since, games which they should have viewed as winnable. that victory over United is the only clean sheet they’ve kept in the league this term.

Both defences look open

While the hosts have been struggling at the back of late, they have at least scored in each of their last eight Premier League games. Last term they shared a 2-2 draw with Leeds before that 2-1 defeat, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see goals in this clash.

Leeds have scored in all but one of their games this term, but they’ve managed one clean sheet across six matches in all competitions. They meet a Brentford side who scored in every one of their home meetings with sides below them last term, so I don’t see the visitors holding out.

Both teams to score is my pick here, with both sides impressing in front of goal last term. They had two thrilling clashes when they met last term and this one is shaping up the same way. Given Brentford’s winless run I’m also backing them for another score draw, with 2-2 my correct score prediction.
