Brentford vs West Ham United Predictions
- Brentford have won five of their six Premier League meetings with West Ham, including all three at home
- The Hammers have lost three of their last four games, conceding 11 goals in those defeats
- Brentford have won and conceded in all three of their home games this season
- Mbeumo has scored three goals across his two home league outings this term
Hammers in trouble
Julen Lopetegui’s West Ham reign is off to a terrible start, with the club losing three of their first five Premier League games this term. Their midweek drubbing at Liverpool in the Carabao Cup didn’t help matters and now the Hammers head to Brentford on Saturday.
The Bees have bounced back from a poor season to make an encouraging start to this campaign. They’ve looked good despite defeats at Man City, Liverpool and Tottenham, while they’ve excelled at their own ground. Given the standard of defending West Ham have displayed over the last couple of weeks, the Bees can run riot in this encounter.
Mbeumo starring for Bees
Bryan Mbeumo has been an early standout for Brentford, easing the sting of Ivan Toney’s departure. The Cameroonian has scored four league goals, with three of those coming in two games at the Gtech.
Mbeumo scored seconds into their loss at Tottenham last weekend and he’s making the most of his central role in Brentford’s front three. The forward is well on his way to beating his nine-goal tally from each of the last two league campaigns and he should be backed to trouble a West Ham defence that has leaked 12 goals across their last four matches.
Another routine win for Brentford
Brentford have seen off Crystal Palace, Southampton and Leyton Orient at home this season and the Bees can build on that good run against the Hammers. Considering how the visitors fell apart at Anfield days after being pulled apart by Chelsea, a visit to a smart Brentford side is going to be a tall order for West Ham.
Brentford made the most of their home games last term and they’ve won each of their three home Premier League contests with the Hammers. The Bees have won five of their six clashes with West Ham in the top-flight, so they look like great value at odds-against considering how poor Lopetegui’s side have been.
