Saturday brings a simple end to Sampdoria’s season, something which didn’t look realistic late last year. They were deep in trouble after a poor start, with relegation a genuine concern for a side who have established themselves as a top-10 team in Serie A over recent years. They didn’t repeat that this year, but their run to safety has still been impressive.

Meanwhile, Brescia end their campaign having spent the last few weeks as an already relegated side. They have fallen 12 points shy of safety ahead of the final day, which has left them comfortably distant of the rest of the top-flight. They’ve been poor all season, but they’ve fallen even further behind since the restart. Our predictions point to things getting even tougher on the final day.

Brescia’s season of struggle
