Back both teams to get on the scoresheet in Saturday’s Breton derby between Brest and Rennes at Stade Francis Le Ble. Just four clubs have scored more than Rennes’ 43 Ligue 1 goals this term, and both teams had scored by the break the last time these two met in December.

Rennes are four places above Brest in the table, with an eight-point gap between the two sides. The hosts are 11th with ten wins, six draws and 11 defeats, while Rennes are seventh having won 12, drawn eight and lost seven.

Brest have lost their last two Ligue 1 games, but they have won six of their last seven at home. Rennes beat Nice 4-0 last month and are on a run of two straight successes on their travels.

Both teams have found the net in nine of the last 11 Ligue 1 games between these sides.

Rennes will be bullish about their chances of scoring, having posed an attacking threat this season. They have averaged 1.75 goals a game in their eight Ligue 1 away games against bottom-half teams.

With 17 of Rennes’ 27 Ligue 1 matches this season going over 2.5 goals, a 2-1 away win for Rennes looks like a decent correct-score bet.
