Brighton vs QPR Predictions
This is a huge night in the three-horse race for automatic promotion from the Championship. With the top two meeting each other at Turf Moor it is absolutely imperative that 3rd place Brighton take maximum points here at home to mid-table QPR. The way they are playing they look very capable of doing that too. The Seagulls have lost just 1 of their last 16 league matches and have won 5 of the last 6 with their only dropped points coming in the 2-2 draw with Burnley. They were at their best on Friday night when they hammered Fulham 5-0 at the AmEx with Tomer Hemed netting a hat-trick.
QPR have become a tough side to beat though so this is likely to be a much trickier game. The Londoners have lost just 1 of their last 7 and frustrated play-off chasing Cardiff to a 0-0 draw at the weekend. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will be pleased with the progress his side are making. Their away form makes for interesting reading in that they’ve drawn 7 of their 9 league games on the road in 2016, losing just once so clearly Brighton won’t have this all their own way.
Few of those QPR away games were against sides as good as Brighton though. The Seagulls possess real quality going forward and have scored twice or more in all of their last 5 matches. They’ve netted 20 times in their last 8 home games with Knockaert providing real quality down the right and Hemed looking clinical up front on 16 goals for the season now. Therefore you’d have to say Brighton should have enough to grab the win here and backing Brighton to score 2 or more goals at 7/10 looks worth a punt the way they are playing.
