Brisbane Roar vs Melbourne City Betting Tips

Brisbane Roar have had an excellent start to the season as they look to improve on their mid-table finish last term.

They won their opening two matches against Western Sydney Wanderers and Central Coast Mariners before suffering their first defeat of the season away to Wellington Phoenix.

Since then they have beaten Adelaide United and Perth Glory at home either side of an away draw against Sydney FC.

This puts them at the summit of the Hyundai A-League with 13 points from their opening six games. Sydney FC are two points adrift of them in 2^nd, whilst Melbourne Victory are three points behind but do hold a game in hand on them.

Melbourne City are all the way down in 7^th with seven points from their opening six games, but a win on Friday could see them rise to a more respectable position.

Melbourne City drew their opening game of the season against Sydney FC, before losing to arch rivals Melbourne Victory and then being dumped out of the FFA Cup by Perth Glory.

They have managed to win two of their four games since then, with the other two matches ending in defeat.

Four of Brisbane Roar’s six outings this season have seen three or more goals scored, with the team scoring 11 goals in total. Melbourne City have seen goalfests in their last six games, with only their opening day draw at Sydney FC seeing under three goals notched. The visitors have seen 29 goals scored in their seven matches so far.

Melbourne City have scored in all but one of their seven matches this season, but their poor defence will allow a decent Brisbane Roar attack many opportunities to score themselves.

These statistics are making me lean towards and Over 2.5 Goals bet, and the odds of 7/10 look like pretty good value so I’m backing that. I do think Brisbane Roar will win though, so 1/1 for a home win look good as well, but I’m backing a 3-1 correct scoreline at 14/1.
